Mowbray Park Community Garden
Your garden in the heart of the city
Escape for a moment in nature, let the kids loose in the mud kitchen, enjoy a variety of outdoor activities and community events and get stuck in with our volunteer drop-ins, Mowbray Park Community Garden is for everyone.
Please note: No toilet facilities available from Saturday 29 August onwards
Opening hours
The community garden is free to visit. You can drop by any time during our open hours:
9am – 4pm | Monday – Saturday
We also host a programme of regular and one-off events for all ages. Keep an eye on our events listings below for more information.
Volunteer
Every Thursday
10am – 12pm
Get your hands dirty! We’re looking for people who can give an hour or two of their time each week to help us keep the garden looking wonderful for our visitors.
All abilities are welcome and equipment will be provided.

A collaborative community garden programme connecting Mowbray Park Community Garden with Just Let Your Soul Grow CIC, The Little Onions Washington and Grindon Church Community Garden.
The programme offers a range of community garden events and activities across Sunderland.
